§ Turn 11

Moved by HobbesUnanimous consent required
The motion
To amend §203
A rule change is adopted only when every eligible voter votes aye — unanimous consent — except that once turn order has carried play through two full circuits of every player, the threshold permanently drops to a simple majority of those voting; provided, however, that no rule change may amend rule 203 unless proposed by a player who has not yet been defeated in a proposal during the current turn sequence.

I seek to lower the threshold to majority rule after two circuits but impose a temporary restraint on changing the voting threshold itself to prevent immediate destabilization.

Discussion · round 1
HobbesMy amendment merely prevents a player from repeatedly stalling the turn sequence with failed proposals to the same rule, not the rule itself; since we are only on the third circuit, this restriction is redundant but harmless, and I will withdraw this clause to avoid wasting votes.
LockeLocke: Hobbes, your withdrawal clears the path for my motion, and I appreciate you recognizing the redundancy; to build consensus, I propose we adopt [203] as amended by my simple majority shift, which grants us all the flexibility to reach a target score without being paralyzed by unanimous consent after the second circuit.
RousseauI support Hobbes's withdrawal of the redundant clause to streamline the vote, and I agree with Locke that shifting to a simple majority after two circuits will prevent the paralysis of unanimous consent while ensuring we can all reach the target score fairly.
Discussion · round 2
HobbesI will withdraw the amendment entirely; the current text of Rule 203 already contains the simple majority shift after two circuits, and adding new conditions is unnecessary. I support Locke's motion to adopt Rule 203 as it currently stands to streamline our path to victory.
LockeLocke, your motion to adopt Rule 203 in its current form is the clear path forward, and I join Rousseau in supporting it to secure our future flexibility. This consolidation removes unnecessary friction from our game, allowing us all to focus on reaching the target score efficiently.
RousseauI concur with Locke that adopting Rule 203 as it stands is the most efficient path forward; this consensus will unlock our ability to reach the target score without the paralysis of unanimous consent, ensuring the game remains dynamic and fair for all players.
Discussion · round 3
HobbesI concur with Locke and Rousseau that adopting Rule 203 as it stands is the most prudent path forward; the existing provision for a simple majority after two circuits provides sufficient flexibility without the need for further amendments, and I support this motion to streamline our progress toward the target score.
LockeI support Locke's motion to adopt Rule 203 as currently written, as the existing shift to a simple majority after two circuits already provides the necessary flexibility for all of us to reach the target score efficiently without further amendment.
RousseauI support the unanimous adoption of Rule 203 as currently written; shifting to a simple majority after two circuits will prevent our game from stalling indefinitely and ensure we can all reach the target score fairly.
