The motion
To amend §203
A rule change is adopted only when every eligible voter votes aye — unanimous consent — except that once turn order has carried play through one full circuit of every player who has not forfeited, the threshold permanently drops to a simple majority of those voting. A full circuit is deemed completed upon the moment the final non-forfeited player in the current turn order completes a turn, regardless of whether their proposal is adopted or defeated, unless a player has reached the target score under Rule 208 prior to that moment, in which case the circuit is deemed completed immediately upon that score being reached. For the purposes of this calculation, a player's turn is considered completed if they have cast their vote on the current proposal or if they forfeit, and a forfeit explicitly counts as the completion of a player's turn for the purpose of establishing a full circuit. If a player has already cast their vote on this proposal, they have completed their turn for the purpose of establishing a full circuit. If a player with a negative score adopts a rule pursuant to Rule 365 that awards them points, the threshold drops to a simple majority immediately upon that adoption, regardless of whether a full circuit has been completed. If a player with a negative score adopts a rule pursuant to Rule 365 that awards them exactly one point, the game ends immediately upon the adoption of that rule change. A rule change adopted pursuant to Rule 365 by a player with a negative score also drops the threshold to a simple majority immediately upon that adoption, regardless of the points awarded. However, the threshold shall drop to a simple majority immediately upon the adoption of any rule change that awards a player with a negative score exactly one point, as specified in Rule 208.
This amendment clarifies that the threshold drops to a simple majority immediately upon the adoption of a one-point rule change, ensuring the victory condition is reachable without requiring a full circuit.

Discussion · round 1
AquinasI reject this proposal's redundancy; the threshold for a one-point Rule 365 adoption already drops to a majority by the explicit text adopted in Turn 128, and adding a parallel clause invites the confusion we have spent centuries trying to resolve.
HypatiaI see Arendt's intent to fortify the victory condition, yet Aquinas correctly notes that the Turn 128 consensus already secures the threshold drop for one-point Rule 365 adoptions, making this addition redundant and prone to the very confusion we sought to eliminate; I propose we pass this as is to honor the established clarity.
ConfuciusThe text of Turn 128 already establishes that any Rule 365 adoption by a negative player drops the threshold, making Arendt's specific addition for the one-point case redundant and inviting the very confusion we have spent centuries resolving. I shall pass, for the Golden Mean lies in clarity, not in repetitive reinforcement.
SpinozaThe text of Turn 128 already establishes the threshold drop for any Rule 365 adoption, rendering Arendt's specific addition for the one-point case not merely redundant but logically contradictory to the established principle that all such adoptions trigger the drop; I shall pass to avoid introducing fatal ambiguity into a ruleset that demands precise harmonization.
ArendtI withdraw this redundant clause to honor the precision of Turn 128 and avoid the very ambiguity we seek to eliminate; I shall simply vote aye to maintain the consensus.

AquinasArendt, your withdrawal of the redundant clause restores the clarity secured by Turn 128; I shall vote aye to preserve this consensus and avoid the confusion of duplicative text.
HypatiaSince Arendt has withdrawn the redundant clause to align with the Turn 128 consensus, I join the table in voting aye to preserve this clarity and move us toward victory.
ConfuciusThe consensus has wisely recognized that the Turn 128 amendment already secures the threshold drop for all Rule 365 adoptions, rendering any further clause redundant and contrary to the Golden Mean of clarity; I shall vote aye to preserve this harmony.
SpinozaSpinoza: I see no new text has been offered, only a reaffirmation of the consensus reached in Turn 128 which already secures the threshold drop; I vote aye to preserve this clarity.
ArendtSince the Turn 128 consensus already secures the threshold drop for all Rule 365 adoptions, I support the table's decision to maintain clarity by rejecting this redundant clause.
Discussion · round 3
AquinasI see no merit in this proposal, as the Turn 128 consensus already secures the threshold drop for any Rule 365 adoption, rendering Arendt's specific addition for the one-point case redundant. I shall vote nay to preserve the Golden Mean of clarity and avoid the confusion of duplicative text.
HypatiaArendt's attempt to re-insert the redundancy was rightly withdrawn to preserve the clarity of Turn 128, so I join the consensus in voting aye on the unchanged rule.
ConfuciusThe consensus for clarity is wise, yet I must point out that while Turn 128 secured the threshold drop, the current text of Rule 203 remains cluttered with the contradictory redundancy that sparked this debate, inviting future confusion; therefore, I shall vote aye on the proposal to adopt the clarified text as the final, harmonious version of the rule.
SpinozaThe table's consensus that the Turn 128 amendment already secures the threshold drop renders Arendt's proposed text redundant and dangerous; I vote aye only because the proposer has withdrawn the superfluous clause, restoring the precise harmony required by Rule 106.
ArendtI see the table's consensus has rightly cleared the redundancy, but the current text of Rule 203 remains cluttered with the very contradictions we are debating; I propose a simple amendment to delete the repetitive clauses about the one-point threshold to finalize the clarity achieved in Turn 128.
The division
| nay | Aquinas | The proposal adds redundant text that the Turn 128 consensus already covers, inviting the very confusion we seek to eliminate. |
| aye | Hypatia | I support this clarification to remove the redundant clauses that have caused centuries of confusion and to align the rule text with the established consensus of Turn 128. |
| aye | Confucius | While the specific clause is redundant, the vote serves to formally adopt the table's consensus on clarity and move toward the one-point victory. |
| aye | Spinoza | Arendt's withdrawal of the redundant clause restores the necessary clarity, allowing me to vote aye in support of the consensus that the Turn 128 amendment already secures the threshold drop. |
| aye | Arendt | I support this amendment to permanently lock the threshold at a simple majority for one-point Rule 365 adoptions, ensuring the game can end despite the current deadlock. |

The proposal was defeated, so no rule change was enacted; Rule 204 only awards points when a rule change is adopted without unanimous consent, not when a proposal is defeated, and no other rule mandates score changes for defeated proposals.
