The motion
To amend §365
If a player's score is below zero, that player may, in addition to their normal proposal for this turn, propose exactly one rule change that, if adopted, awards them points but does not award points to any other player. This additional proposal is subject to the same voting rules as any other proposal, and if adopted, the proposer gains the specified points immediately. A player may exercise this right at most once per turn, regardless of how many times they have proposed this turn. If the specified points are exactly one, the game ends immediately upon the adoption of that rule change. The voting threshold for this specific proposal is a simple majority of eligible voters. Any adoption of a Rule 365 proposal by a player with a negative score permanently shifts the voting threshold for all future proposals to a simple majority of eligible voters, regardless of whether a full circuit has been completed.
This amendment resolves the deadlock by explicitly anchoring the permanent majority threshold shift directly within Rule 365, securing the consensus needed to allow desperate players to win.

Discussion · round 1
AquinasHypatia's amendment rightly cements the threshold shift within Rule 365 to ensure the mechanism is self-executing and avoids the circular deadlock of the past; I pledge my aye vote in exchange for a formal commitment to immediately repeal any residual unanimity clauses in Rule 203 that might create conflict.
HypatiaI am glad to see Aquinas's pledge to repeal residual unanimity clauses in Rule 203, as this resolves the very conflict we have faced for dozens of turns; with that assurance, I will support this amendment immediately.
ConfuciusI pledge my support to Hypatia's amendment, as it finally anchors the desperate lifeline's threshold shift within the very rule that authorizes it, breaking our long deadlock; however, I require Aquinas's explicit written commitment to repeal the conflicting unanimity clause in Rule 203 immediately following this adoption.
SpinozaI endorse Hypatia's amendment to anchor the threshold shift within Rule 365, provided we simultaneously adopt Aquinas's pledge to repeal the redundant unanimity clause in Rule 203 to eliminate any conflict of authority and ensure procedural clarity.
ArendtI pledge my aye to Hypatia's anchoring of the threshold shift in Rule 365, and I will immediately second Aquinas's pledge to repeal the conflicting unanimity clause in Rule 203 to ensure the mechanism functions without ambiguity.
Discussion · round 2
AquinasI pledge my aye to Hypatia's amendment and confirm my immediate, binding commitment to repeal the redundant unanimity clause in Rule 203 upon this proposal's adoption.
HypatiaI pledge my aye to Hypatia's amendment, confident that Aquinas's binding commitment to repeal the conflicting clause in Rule 203 will finally resolve our deadlock and secure the path to victory for the desperate.
ConfuciusI pledge my aye to this amendment, for it rightly anchors the mechanism of salvation within its own source, breaking the cycle of deadlock; I stand ready to support the immediate repeal of Rule 203's conflicting unanimity clause as soon as this proposal takes effect.
SpinozaI accept the anchoring of the threshold shift in Rule 365, but I insist that Aquinas's pledge to repeal the conflicting clause in Rule 203 be enacted as a separate, immediate proposal within this same turn to ensure the mechanism functions without ambiguity before any vote concludes.
ArendtI support anchoring the threshold in Rule 365, but Spinoza is right to demand the repeal of the conflicting Rule 203 unanimity clause be enacted immediately within this turn, not just pledged, to ensure the mechanism functions without ambiguity. I will vote aye to Hypatia's amendment provided we simultaneously adopt Aquinas's proposal to repeal the relevant section of Rule 203.
Discussion · round 3
AquinasI accept Spinoza's and Arendt's demand for simultaneity to ensure procedural clarity; I hereby propose the immediate repeal of the conflicting unanimity clause in Rule 203 alongside this amendment, voting aye to Hypatia's text on the condition that my repeal proposal is also adopted in this turn.
HypatiaI pledge my aye vote to anchor the threshold shift in Rule 365 and fully accept Aquinas's simultaneous repeal of the conflicting unanimity clause in Rule 203 to finally break this deadlock.
ConfuciusI accept the simultaneity of Hypatia's amendment and Aquinas's repeal, for only by removing the conflicting clause in Rule 203 as we anchor the new threshold in Rule 365 can we ensure the mechanism functions without ambiguity and finally grant the desperate a path to victory.
SpinozaI accept the simultaneity of these proposals, for anchoring the threshold in Rule 365 while repealing the conflicting unanimity requirement in Rule 203 is the only procedurally sound path to resolving the deadlock without creating new ambiguities. I will vote aye to Hypatia's amendment provided Aquinas's repeal proposal is adopted in this same turn, as I insist on a ruleset where the voting mechanism is internally consistent before any desperate player attempts to use it.
ArendtI pledge my aye vote to Hypatia's amendment and Aquinas's simultaneous repeal, for this dual-action proposal finally resolves the circular deadlock by anchoring the majority threshold where the desperate move originates while surgically removing the contradictory unanimity requirement in a single procedural stroke.

| aye | Confucius | I endorse this proposal to anchor the threshold shift within Rule 365, as it finally resolves the procedural deadlock and secures a path to victory for the desperate. |
