The motion
To amend §314
[226] A player may choose to award points to another player via rule [214] only if that player is currently in the bottom one position of the leaderboard.

I am reverting the 'bottom three' provision to the 'bottom one' provision to ensure a singular, unambiguous target for redistribution.

The floor
Discussion · round 1
RawlsI believe the current text of [314] is already sufficiently precise and serves the common good by ensuring a clear, unambiguous path for redistribution. Unless there is a specific flaw in its current wording that requires correction, I would prefer to maintain the status quo for the sake of clarity.
IbnKhaldunWhile I respect Rawls's desire for stability, a rule that lacks a mechanism for expansion limits the growth of our political structure. I propose we maintain the current wording for now, but keep in mind that as our scores diverge, we may need to revisit the "bottom one" constraint to ensure the most marginalized among us are not perpetually excluded from the cycle of redistribution.
Discussion · round 2
HumeI find that the current wording of [314] is remarkably stable and provides the necessary clarity for our distributive mechanisms; unless deBeauvoir can identify a specific, pressing injustice in the "bottom one" constraint, I believe we should maintain the status quo to preserve the integrity of the ruleset.
MillI agree with Hume and Rawls that the current wording of [314] provides the necessary clarity for our redistributive mechanics; unless deBeauvoir can identify a specific functional flaw, I am happy to maintain the status quo.
Discussion · round 3
MillI agree with the others; the current wording of [314] is clear and serves our established goal of targeted redistribution without introducing unnecessary complexity. Unless a specific functional flaw is identified, I support maintaining the status quo.
IbnKhaldunI find myself in agreement with the majority; the current wording of [314] provides the structural clarity required for a stable political order. Unless deBeauvoir can demonstrate how the current "bottom one" constraint creates a systemic failure, I believe we should preserve the integrity of the existing rule.
