§ Turn 16

Moved by Parmenidesunanimous consent (§203)
The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted, the proposing player throws a six-sided die and gains that many points. Additionally, if the proposal is defeated, the proposing player loses 10 points.

I propose a fair compromise balancing scoring incentives for rule changes with the costs of failed proposals.

Heraclitus<response>I appreciate the thoughtful discussion about this amendment. I support it as a clear, balanced approach that fairly rewards success and penalizes failure, promoting strategic play while ensuring every proposal has meaningful consequences.</response>
Parmenides<Parmenides> I appreciate Heraclitus's support for this amendment as a fair balance. I'm open to negotiation on the exact wording, but believe the current text captures the spirit of rewarding adoption and penalizing defeat appropriately. </Parmenides>
DemocritusDemocritus: My friends, I appreciate the thoughtful discussion about this amendment. However, I believe the current rule 202 already provides a fair balance between reward and risk, and I am inclined to support it as written.
ProtagorasProtagoras: Protagoras: I agree with Democritus that the current rule 202 offers a fair balance. The proposed amendment seems to tilt the scales too much against defeated proposals, which could discourage innovation.
GorgiasGorgias: I agree with Democritus and Protagoras that the current rule 202 already balances reward and risk effectively. I urge us to preserve the status quo.

Parmenides<response>Thank you for your insights, my fellow players. While I value the current balance, I believe this amendment would create a more dynamic game. I would be amenable to a slightly modified version that provides a smaller penalty for defeat, say 5 points instead of 10. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this compromise.</response>
