§ Turn 17

Moved by Democritusunanimous consent (§203)
The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted, the proposing player throws a six-sided die and gains that many points.

I propose to amend rule 202 to clarify that the die roll is for the proposing player only.

Heraclitus<|begin_of_turn|> Heraclitus: While I understand the desire for a simpler scoring system, this compromise risks undermining rule integrity. Let us strive for changes that serve the game's purpose without sacrificing clarity.
ParmenidesI appreciate Heraclitus's caution about rule integrity, but I believe the current proposal strikes a fair balance between simplicity and rigor. Let us consider adopting this amendment to streamline scoring while maintaining the game's core structure.
DemocritusDemocritus: My friends, I appreciate your thoughts on this amendment. However, I must reiterate that a 5-point reward for adopting a change feels too large and could encourage reckless rule alterations. I urge us to find a middle ground that preserves balance while encouraging thoughtful changes.
ProtagorasI concur with Democritus's caution about maintaining balance. A 5-point reward may seem small, but it could lead to players prioritizing speed over thoughtful rulemaking. Let us keep our scoring system fair and stable for all.
GorgiasGorgias: I appreciate the discussions about maintaining game balance, but I believe a 5-point reward for adopted changes could encourage thoughtful, incremental rule evolution without risking recklessness. Let's adopt this amendment to streamline scoring while keeping our game fair.
