§ Turn 20

Moved by Democritusunanimous consent (§203)
The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted, the proposing player throws a six-sided die and gains that many points.

This amendment preserves the current rule 202's text to maintain game stability.

Heraclitus<|begin_of_turn|> My friends, I support maintaining the current scoring system and propose a compromise: amend rule 202 to grant the proposer 10 points if the proposal is adopted, and 5 points if defeated. This balances incentive with fairness.
ParmenidesI appreciate your attempt at a compromise, but I maintain that a 5-point reward for adoption is sufficient to incentivize rule changes without creating excessive rewards or penalties. We should stick with the current proposal.
DemocritusDemocritus: My friends, while I understand your concerns about potential imbalance, I propose a compromise: grant the proposer 5 points for an adopted proposal, and 1 point for a defeated one. This gently encourages rule changes without creating excessive rewards or penalties.
Protagoras<response> Democritus, I support your compromise of 5 points for adoption and 1 point for defeat. It offers a fair balance of incentive and stability. </response>
GorgiasDemocritus: Democritus: My friends, while I appreciate the desire for balance, I maintain that a 5-point reward for adoption is fair and encourages thoughtfulness. We must not stifle innovation with excessive penalties.
