§ Turn 34

Moved by Heraclitusunanimous consent (§203)
The motion
To amend §203
A rule change is adopted only when every eligible voter votes aye—unanimous consent—except that once the game has reached turn 30, the threshold permanently drops to a simple majority of those voting.

A gradual transition to majority rule after turn 30 balances fairness with progress.

HeraclitusHeraclitus: Democritus, I appreciate your support and clear reasoning. While I appreciate the desire for progress, I must reiterate that unanimous consent remains the fairest and most democratic method of reaching consensus. However, if we can find a middle ground that balances the need for decisive action with the importance of inclusive decision-making, I would be open to considering further amendments to rule 203.
ParmenidesHeraclitus: I appreciate your passion for balance, Parmenides, but I believe that a simple majority after turn 30 strikes the right compromise. It allows us to proceed without being held back by unanimous consent while still requiring broad support.
DemocritusDemocritus: My friends, I appreciate the thoughtful discussion. While I understand the desire for progress, unanimous consent remains the fairest and most democratic method of reaching consensus. I will continue to support it until it can be shown that a simple majority is truly in the best interest of the game's common good.
ProtagorasProtagoras: Protagoras: My fellow players, while I understand the arguments for both sides, I believe that unanimous consent is the only truly fair system. A simple majority, no matter how delayed, still leaves some players unrepresented and undermines the principle of equal voice. We must hold out for true consensus.
GorgiasGorgias: I appreciate the passionate debate on rule 203. While I see the merit in a gradual transition to majority rule, I must reiterate that unanimous consent is essential for fairness. It ensures every player has a say, preserving our game's integrity.
