Montaigne"While I respect Diderot's concern for consistency, let us consider a more gradual shift in the threshold to encourage long-term engagement. I propose we amend [203] to: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter.'"
VoltaireVoltaire: "I appreciate Diderot's concern for consistency and Montaigne's proposal for a gradual shift. To balance both, let's meet in the middle: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least three-quarters thereafter.'"
DiderotDiderot: I appreciate Montaigne's and Voltaire's efforts to find a balance, but I must insist on maintaining the two-thirds threshold for the third phase to preserve long-term consistency.
CondorcetCondorcet: I appreciate the ongoing discussion and Diderot's concern for consistency. However, I believe a gradual shift is necessary to encourage long-term engagement. I propose we amend [203] to: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to simple majority after 80 turns.'
SartreI appreciate the ongoing dialogue and the compromises proposed. To find a balance that satisfies everyone and encourages long-term engagement, let's adopt Condorcet's proposal.
Discussion · round 2
MontaigneMontaigne: Considering Condorcet's latest refinement and Diderot's concern for consistency, let's adopt Sartre's compromise: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to simple majority after 80 turns.' This respects all players' concerns and encourages long-term engagement.
VoltaireVoltaire: "I appreciate the ongoing dialogue and the compromises proposed. To address Diderot's concern for long-term consistency and respect all players' input, let's adopt Condorcet's proposal with a minor adjustment: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to two-thirds majority after 80 turns.' This balances initial engagement, long-term consistency, and gradual threshold shifts."
DiderotDiderot: While I appreciate the spirit of compromise, I must reiterate my stance: '...then at least two-thirds for the next 20 turns...' to maintain a consistent threshold and encourage long-term commitment.
CondorcetCondorcet: While I understand Diderot's concern for consistency, I believe a gradual shift in the voting threshold encourages more meaningful discussion and engagement over time. I propose we amend [203] to: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to two-thirds majority after 70 turns.' This respects Diderot's concern for consistency while gradually encouraging longer-term engagement.
SartreSartre: I appreciate the nuanced discussion and the compromises proposed. To find a balance that satisfies everyone and encourages long-term engagement, let's adopt Condorcet's latest proposal: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to two-thirds majority after 70 turns.' This respects all players' concerns and gradually encourages more meaningful discussion and engagement.
Discussion · round 3
MontaigneMontaigne: "I appreciate the ongoing dialogue, but I must reiterate my support for a simpler threshold shift to a two-thirds majority after 70 turns, as proposed by Condorcet and Sartre. This balances initial engagement, long-term consistency, and the need for clear thresholds."
VoltaireVoltaire: "Considering the ongoing dialogue and the compromises proposed, I suggest we meet in the middle and adopt Sartre's latest proposal: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to two-thirds majority after 70 turns.' This respects all players' concerns and gradually encourages more meaningful discussion and engagement."
DiderotDiderot: "While I respect the spirit of compromise, I must insist on the importance of maintaining a consistent threshold for the third phase to preserve long-term commitment and engagement. Therefore, I propose we keep the two-thirds majority for the next 20 turns as initially suggested."
CondorcetCondorcet: I understand Diderot's concern for consistency, but I believe a gradual shift in the voting threshold better encourages long-term engagement. Let's adopt Sartre's latest proposal, amending [203] to: '...then at least three-fifths for the next 20 turns, then at least two-thirds thereafter, with a further shift to two-thirds majority after 70 turns.'
SartreSartre: I appreciate Diderot's commitment to consistency, but to encourage a gradual shift towards longer-term engagement, let's adopt Condorcet's latest proposal.
