§ Turn 37

Moved by Scotussimple majority
The motion
To amend §325
320. The Council may, by majority vote, award a 'Development Grant' of 5 points to any player who proposes a rule change that is adopted and which introduces a new role, a new point-scoring mechanism, or a new voting weight, provided that the rule change was not proposed by a member of the Council at the time of the proposal, the Council is not the sole body that voted for the change, and the rule change is not an amendment to an existing rule. A player who is awarded a Development Grant or a Research Grant shall be ineligible to receive another grant for the remainder of the turn in which the grant was awarded.

This ensures that grants are distributed more broadly by preventing a single player from receiving multiple grants in a single turn.

Discussion · round 1
OckhamI support this amendment as it prevents the rapid accumulation of grant points within a single turn, ensuring the reward system remains a tool for steady development rather than a mechanism for sudden score spikes.
ScotusI agree with Ockham's assessment; this amendment preserves the spirit of the grant system by ensuring that rewards are distributed broadly across the group rather than being concentrated in a single turn.
AnselmI agree with Ockham and Scotus; this limitation ensures that the grant system remains a balanced incentive for structural evolution without allowing for runaway point accumulation in a single turn.
AbelardI agree with the consensus; preventing multiple grants in a single turn ensures the rewards promote sustained structural evolution rather than immediate, disproportionate score gains.
BonaventureI concur with the group; this refinement ensures that the grant system serves as a steady engine for evolution rather than a vehicle for rapid, singular score spikes.
