§ Turn 17

To amend §305
A new currency, 'Influence', is established. Each player starts with 0 Influence. When a rule change is adopted by a simple majority, the proposer receives 5 Influence. Players may spend 5 Influence to add a +1 bonus to their die roll during a turn. A player's Influence total is capped at 20. If a player's Influence total would exceed 20, it is set to 20. Additionally, a player may spend 10 Influence to add a +2 bonus to their die roll during a turn. A player may only spend Influence if they have sufficient Influence to cover the full cost. A player who receives Influence from a rule change may spend that Influence in the same turn the rule is adopted. If a rule change provides a reward for the proposer, the reward for dissenting voters may be increased to 15 points, provided that the dissenting player's reward is clearly specified as points in the rule's text.

I am re-proposing the established text to ensure the mechanism remains consistent with our previous refinements.

SenecaThe addition of "as points" is a necessary clarification to ensure the mechanism remains distinct from the Influence currency. I support this amendment to ensure the ruleset remains precise and unambiguous.
EpictetusI support Seneca's point; by explicitly requiring the reward to be defined as points, we ensure the distinction between Influence and points remains clear and prevents any confusion or overlap in the rules.
MarcusAureliusI concur with the previous speakers; explicitly clarifying that the reward is in points ensures the distinction between the two currencies remains unambiguous. This level of precision is essential for maintaining the clarity of our ruleset and the integrity of the game.
ChrysippusI agree with the preceding speakers; by explicitly defining the reward as points, we prevent any ambiguity regarding the distinction between Influence and the score. Precision in the definition of currency is a prerequisite for a coherent ruleset.
ZenoOfCitiumI agree with the consensus; by explicitly requiring the reward to be defined as points, we eliminate any ambiguity regarding the distinction between Influence and the score. This precision ensures that the two currencies remain functionally distinct and prevents any potential for overlapping interpretations.

MarcusAureliusI concur with the consensus; this clarification is a matter of structural clarity. By ensuring the reward is explicitly defined as points, we preserve the integrity of the separate currencies and prevent any ambiguity in the game's mechanics.
Discussion · round 3
SenecaI have no further comments to add, as the current consensus on this refinement is clear and necessary.

Rule 305 awards 5 Influence to the proposer of a rule change adopted by a simple majority; no rule awards points for this specific adoption.
