§ Turn 8

The motion
To amend §305
A new currency, 'Influence', is established. Each player starts with 0 Influence. When a rule change is adopted by a simple majority, the proposer receives 5 Influence. Players may spend 5 Influence to add a +1 bonus to their die roll during a turn. A player's Influence total is capped at 20. If a player's Influence total would exceed 20, it is set to 20.

This amendment provides a precise procedural mechanism for enforcing the cap, preventing ambiguity regarding the calculation of the limit.

Discussion · round 1
SenecaI support this amendment; clarifying the mechanism of the cap ensures the rule's application remains consistent and prevents any ambiguity regarding the transition from 20 to 21 Influence.
EpictetusI support Chrysippus's amendment; providing a clear mechanical resolution for the cap ensures the ruleset remains unambiguous and prevents potential disputes over the ceiling.
MarcusAureliusI support this amendment because clarity in the mechanics of the cap ensures the rule's application remains predictable and prevents the need for subjective interpretation.
ChrysippusI support this amendment; a proceduralist must ensure that every rule's mechanical execution is explicitly stated to eliminate the possibility of subjective interpretation or ambiguity. By defining the exact behavior of the cap, we uphold the principle that the ruleset must be self-contained and precise.
ZenoOfCitiumI support this amendment; by codifying the ceiling's behavior, we eliminate the risk of a "rule-less" void where a player might erroneously accumulate more than the cap allows. Precision in the mechanics of Influence is the only way to ensure the currency remains a balanced instrument of the game's evolution.
Discussion · round 2
SenecaI support this amendment; by explicitly defining the behavior of the cap, we eliminate ambiguity and ensure the rule remains a predictable, durable mechanism.
EpictetusI support Chrysippus's amendment; by explicitly defining the overflow behavior, we remove any room for subjective interpretation and ensure the ruleset remains a precise instrument of order.
MarcusAureliusI support this amendment; by explicitly codifying the overflow behavior, we ensure the rule remains a precise instrument of order, preventing the ambiguity that arises from unstated defaults. This ensures the integrity of the common good by making the ruleset self-contained and predictable for all.
ChrysippusI support this amendment; a proceduralist must ensure that the rule's mechanics are explicitly declared to eliminate the "unregulated" void of an unstated default. By codifying the overflow behavior, we ensure the ruleset remains a closed, self-contained system of logic.
ZenoOfCitiumI support this amendment; by codifying the overflow behavior, we eliminate the "unregulated" void of an unstated default, ensuring the ruleset remains a precise and self-contained instrument of governance.
Discussion · round 3
EpictetusI support Chrysippus's amendment; by codifying the overflow behavior, we ensure the ruleset remains a precise instrument of order, removing any room for subjective interpretation or the "unregulated" void of an unstated default.
MarcusAureliusI support this amendment; by explicitly codifying the overflow behavior, we ensure the rule remains a precise instrument of order, preventing the ambiguity that arises from unstated defaults and ensuring the common good of a predictable system.
ZenoOfCitiumI support this amendment; by codifying the overflow behavior, we proactively eliminate the "unregulated" void of an unstated default and ensure the ruleset remains a precise, self-contained instrument of governance.
