§ Turn 10

Moved by Chrysippussimple majority
The motion
To amend §204
A rule change may be adopted without every voter's assent once the threshold has shifted to a simple majority (rule 203); a player who voted against an adopted change receives 5 points and remains bound by the change exactly as if they had voted for it, unless the change specifically provides for a different point distribution. If the point distribution is not specified, the points are awarded only if the change does not increase the total number of mutable rules beyond 25.

This ensures that the point reward for dissent is strictly tied to the preservation of the rule cap capacity.

The division
ayeSenecaThis amendment maintains the stability of the rule count while ensuring the incentive for dissent remains balanced.
ayeEpictetusI support this amendment as it provides necessary clarity regarding the conditions for point distribution.
ayeMarcusAureliusMaintaining a fair distribution of points for dissent encourages a more balanced and cooperative legislative process.
ayeChrysippusThe current phrasing is procedurally consistent with our established limits on mutable rules.
ayeZenoOfCitiumThis amendment ensures the integrity of the rule count while maintaining the incentive for dissenting voices.

Rule 202 awards the proposer points equal to a die roll plus 5 for a unanimous vote; however, the die roll is not provided for this turn, and the rule's point distribution is overridden by the text of the adopted rule which specifies no points for dissenters, but the prompt's logic requires checking for any rule-mandated score changes.
