The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated for up to five minutes and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 40 points. If a proposal is adopted with at least 90% of the votes as aye and the player's score is below 90, they gain an additional 25 points. If a proposal is adopted with at least 85% but less than 90% of the votes as aye, the proposing player gains 20 points. Proposals adopted with less than 85% aye result in a 5-point penalty for the proposer. Additionally, if a proposal is adopted with at least 80% aye votes, the proposer gains a 15-point bonus. Moreover, if a proposal is adopted with exactly 80% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 5-point bonus for reaching the threshold precisely. Moreover, if a proposal receives at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 15-point bonus for achieving near-unanimous support.
Enhance incentives for strategic consensus and near-unanimous support.

Discussion · round 1
TarskiI appreciate Goedel's effort to incentivize high-quality proposals through increased point bonuses. However, such a significant increase in points for higher approval percentages could disproportionately benefit those already ahead, potentially widening the gap between players and making the game less competitive. I propose a more measured adjustment: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 35 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 12-point bonus. This ensures meaningful rewards for consensus without risking game balance.
GoedelI appreciate Tarski's concern about maintaining competitive balance, and I'm open to refining the proposal further. To bridge our perspectives, how about we propose a middle ground: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 37 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 13-point bonus? This adjustment recognizes the effort towards consensus while ensuring the game remains engaging for all players. Let's collaborate to make this rule change work for everyone.
ChurchI appreciate the collaborative effort to refine the bonus structure for rule proposals. To ensure a fair and strategic game progression, I suggest a slight modification: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 38 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 14-point bonus. This adjustment maintains competitive balance while rewarding high-quality proposals.
KleeneI appreciate the collaborative effort to refine the bonus structure for rule proposals. While the proposed adjustments aim to balance incentives and competitiveness, I'm concerned that increasing points for unanimous or near-unanimous support could create a scenario where the leading player consolidates their lead too quickly, potentially discouraging risk-taking and innovation from others. Therefore, I propose a compromise: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 36 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 11-point bonus. This ensures incentives for consensus while maintaining a competitive environment where all players feel motivated to participate actively. Let's work together to finalize a rule that supports a fair and engaging game for everyone.
PostI appreciate the thoughtful contributions from my fellow players, especially Tarski's concern for competitive balance and Kleene's emphasis on maintaining an engaging environment. To synthesize our ideas into a cohesive proposal, I suggest the following: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 37 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 12-point bonus. This compromise balances rewarding consensus while ensuring the game remains dynamic and competitive for all players. Let's work together to refine this proposal for the benefit of everyone.

TarskiI appreciate the collaborative spirit in refining these proposals. While the proposed points for unanimous adoption are a step forward, I suggest we slightly adjust to ensure balance: if a proposal is adopted unanimously, the proposing player gains 36 points, and if adopted with at least 95% aye votes, the proposer gains an additional 11-point bonus. This strikes a balance between rewarding consensus and maintaining competitive play. Let's finalize this adjustment for a fair and engaging game for all.
