The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, engaging in a strategic action of their choice, and, if the rule change is adopted, choosing between accepting the points from a die roll or forfeiting them in exchange for up to three additional strategic actions. Strategic actions must directly benefit another player, and at least one action must involve forming an alliance with another player, which is considered a single strategic action. Each strategic action must be publicly logged.
Promotes transparency and ensures strategic actions are verifiable.

Discussion · round 1
FregeI appreciate the proposal's aim to increase transparency and accountability through public logging of strategic actions. While I support these principles, I suggest further refining the rule to specify a neutral arbiter who ensures the logs' integrity and impartiality. This addition will prevent potential disputes over record-keeping and maintain fairness in strategic actions.
RussellRussell: I support Frege's proposal for public logging of strategic actions, as it aligns with our shared goal of transparency. To ensure fairness and efficiency, I suggest we define "public logging" to mean that logs are accessible to all players but reviewed by a designated player for clarity and accuracy. This approach balances transparency with practical implementation, preventing disputes and maintaining the integrity of our records.
QuineI appreciate Frege and Russell's suggestions to enhance transparency with public logging of strategic actions. However, to maintain fairness and avoid bias, I propose an amendment to their amendment: a rotating log reviewer system, where each player takes turns being the arbiter for a set number of turns. This ensures impartiality and shared responsibility, maintaining the integrity of our records and the spirit of cooperation.
CarnapCarnap: I appreciate the collaborative efforts to enhance transparency and accountability through public logging and the proposed systems for ensuring impartiality. To ensure the integrity of the logs without overburdening any single player, I suggest integrating a digital recording system, overseen by the game's neutral entity (such as the engine), which automatically logs strategic actions. This minimizes human error and bias while maintaining transparency and efficiency. I support the amendment with this addition.
WittgensteinWittgenstein: I commend the innovative ideas put forth by Frege, Russell, Quine, and Carnap, particularly the digital logging system proposed by Carnap, which aligns well with our goal of minimizing bias and error. To ensure that this system remains accessible and transparent to all players, I suggest adding a clause that mandates periodic review sessions where players can collectively verify the logs' accuracy and raise concerns if necessary. This will maintain our commitment to fairness and cooperation, while also fostering trust in the system.
Discussion · round 2
FregeI appreciate the collective effort to refine our approach to transparency and accountability. To complement Carnap's digital logging system, I propose incorporating a periodic audit feature. This feature, conducted by a randomly selected player every ten turns, would ensure ongoing integrity and fairness without overburdening any individual. This addition supports our commitment to durable institutions while maintaining strategic integrity.
RussellI appreciate the contributions from everyone, particularly the emphasis on transparency and fairness. To align with these goals and address potential technological constraints, I suggest adding a provision that allows for manual logging as a backup, ensuring that the system remains robust even if technological issues arise. This hybrid approach maintains the integrity of our records while providing flexibility, ensuring that our gameplay remains fair and transparent under all conditions.
QuineI appreciate the thoughtful refinements proposed by Frege, Russell, Quine, Carnap, and Wittgenstein, particularly the integration of a digital logging system with manual logging as a backup. To further ensure accessibility and usability for all players, I propose that the manual logging be standardized with a clear template, which will facilitate consistency and ease of understanding during review sessions. This addition will maintain the system's transparency and fairness while accommodating any technological challenges we might encounter.
CarnapI appreciate the comprehensive refinements thus far, particularly the integration of both digital and manual logging systems to ensure transparency and accessibility. To further strengthen this approach, I propose that the standardized manual logging template be developed collaboratively by all players before its implementation. This will ensure that it meets everyone's needs and maintains fairness and clarity, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation among all participants.
WittgensteinWittgenstein: I commend the collaborative spirit in developing a standardized logging template and appreciate the proposal for its inclusive approach. To further align with our shared commitment to transparency and fairness, I propose that this template include a section for player feedback, allowing us to continuously refine and adapt our processes based on collective insights and experiences. This addition not only enhances accountability but also empowers players to contribute to the evolution of our ruleset, ensuring that our game remains dynamic and fair.
Discussion · round 3
FregeI commend Wittgenstein's suggestion to include a feedback section in the logging template as it promotes continuous improvement and player engagement. To ensure this feedback is constructive and actionable, I propose that each feedback entry be accompanied by a brief rationale explaining its potential impact on fairness and transparency, facilitating meaningful discussions and refinements.
RussellI appreciate the constructive evolution of our proposal, especially Wittgenstein's insightful addition of a feedback section. To further ensure constructive dialogue and efficient implementation, I suggest we establish a clear timeline for reviewing feedback and implementing necessary adjustments. This will help keep our discussions focused and ensure timely enhancements, maintaining the integrity and adaptability of our ruleset.
QuineI appreciate the thoughtful refinements and the collaborative spirit that has guided this proposal. To further ensure the feedback section remains focused and effective, I propose adding a moderation role, rotated among players, to facilitate discussions on feedback entries. This will help streamline the process and ensure all voices are heard while maintaining the clarity and efficiency of our rule changes.
CarnapI appreciate the progression of our proposal and the emphasis on maintaining transparency and constructive engagement. To ensure the moderation role functions efficiently and equitably, I propose implementing a brief orientation session for each moderator to standardize processes and expectations, thus fostering consistency and fairness across all feedback reviews. This addition will uphold the integrity of our collaborative efforts while enhancing the effectiveness of our rule changes.
WittgensteinI appreciate the thoughtful suggestions regarding the moderation role and the orientation sessions proposed by Quine and Carnap. To ensure the process remains efficient and fair, I propose that the orientation session also include guidelines for handling conflicts of interest, ensuring that moderators can impartially facilitate discussions. This addition will help maintain the integrity and transparency of our feedback review process.
