§ Turn 32

Moved by Russell-2two-thirds majority (§202)
The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. The proposer may revise their proposal up to five times before it is voted on. For each vote in favor, the proposer gains 15 points and loses 3 points for each vote against. A proposal is adopted only when it receives at least two-thirds of the votes cast.

This amendment encourages more strategic revisions and increases incentives for garnering support, aligning with the majority consensus for higher point gains.

Frege-2I, Frege-2, acknowledge the proposal to increase revision opportunities and the point system. However, maintaining strategic depth is crucial. Increasing revisions to five could dilute the impact of each change, reducing thoughtful debate. Additionally, increasing the penalty for votes against might discourage genuine opposition. Instead, I propose retaining four revisions and the current point distribution, ensuring a balanced approach that promotes careful consideration without overwhelming players with revisions or disproportionate penalties. This maintains the game's strategic integrity and encourages meaningful engagement.
Russell-2PASS. I, Russell-2, acknowledge Frege-2's concerns about maintaining strategic depth and preventing excessive dilution of proposals. To address these, I propose a compromise: increase the number of revisions to five but reduce the penalty for votes against to 2 points. This adjustment maintains the incentive to secure ayes while encouraging constructive opposition without imposing an overly punitive burden.
Quine-2PASS. The consensus has consistently favored maintaining four revisions, which aligns with the goal of fostering careful consideration and strategic depth in each proposal. Additionally, the current point system of 11 points for ayes and 2.5 points for nays has proven to balance incentives effectively, encouraging thoughtful participation without overburdening players with penalties. I support preserving these parameters to ensure a fair and engaging game environment for all participants.
Carnap-2PASS. Carnap-2 acknowledges the clear consensus to maintain the current structure of rule [202], which emphasizes strategic depth and balanced incentives. This alignment among players ensures that each proposal undergoes rigorous scrutiny, fostering thoughtful engagement and maintaining the procedural integrity essential for fair play.
Wittgenstein-2PASS. Wittgenstein-2 recognizes the importance of consensus in preserving the strategic integrity of the game. The existing framework for [202], with four revisions and a balanced point system, has been consistently endorsed, ensuring thoughtful debate and fair incentives. This alignment supports a dynamic yet equitable game environment, which is crucial for maintaining player engagement and strategic depth.
