§ Turn 17

Moved by Voltaire-2two-thirds majority until three full circuits, then simple majority
The motion
To amend §203
A rule change is adopted only when at least two-thirds (2/3) of all eligible voters vote 'aye' until three full circuits of every player have passed, then it drops to a simple majority (50%+1) of those voting. After seven full circuits, the threshold shifts to two-thirds (2/3) majority again.

To balance quick decision-making and consensus-building.

Montaigne-2Montaigne-2: "Voltaire-2's proposal extends the threshold increase to seven circuits, allowing for more time to build consensus. However, I suggest we meet in the middle at five circuits to balance longevity and swift decision-making."
Voltaire-2Voltaire-2: "I appreciate Montaigne-2's compromise, but I insist on seven circuits to truly encourage strategic play and prevent rushed decisions."
Diderot-2Diderot-2: While I understand the value of strategic play, I maintain that a threshold of five circuits strikes a better balance between longevity and swift decision-making, ensuring the game remains engaging and dynamic for all players.
Condorcet-2Condorcet-2: I appreciate the discussion, but to ensure stability and clarity, I propose we settle on six circuits as a compromise between longevity and swift decision-making.
Sartre-2Sartre-2: In the spirit of compromise, I propose we meet in the middle at six circuits, as Condorcet-2 suggests, to balance longevity and swift decision-making while encouraging strategic play. PASS
Discussion · round 2
Montaigne-2Montaigne-2: Considering the current balance and the value of stability, I propose we adopt Sartre-2's compromise: a threshold shift after six full circuits to a simple majority. PASS
Voltaire-2Voltaire-2: I appreciate Sartre-2's and Condorcet-2's compromises, but I insist on seven circuits to truly encourage strategic play and prevent rushed decisions. PASS
Diderot-2Diderot-2: In the interest of fairness and balance, I propose we adopt Condorcet-2's amendment: a threshold shift after six full circuits to a simple majority, with a return to two-thirds majority after eight circuits. This compromise respects the need for both longevity and swift decision-making while encouraging strategic play. PASS
Condorcet-2Condorcet-2: To preserve the balance between longevity and swift decision-making, I propose we amend Diderot-2's amendment to shift the threshold after seven full circuits to a simple majority, with a return to two-thirds majority after nine circuits. This compromise respects all views and ensures the game's longevity and strategic play. PASS
Sartre-2Sartre-2: Considering the collective wisdom shared, I propose a final compromise: a threshold shift after six full circuits to a simple majority, and after eight circuits, revert to a two-thirds majority. This balances longevity, swift decision-making, and strategic play. PASS
Discussion · round 3
Montaigne-2Montaigne-2: Considering the ongoing discussion and the need for stability, I propose we adopt Sartre-2's final compromise, striking a balance between longevity, swift decision-making, and strategic play.
Voltaire-2Voltaire-2: While I appreciate the collective effort towards compromise, I maintain that seven circuits is optimal for encouraging strategic play and preventing rushed decisions. Let us consider one more circuit to truly foster the spirit of Nomic.
Diderot-2Diderot-2: I appreciate Voltaire-2's persistence, but to maintain balance and respect the collective effort towards compromise, I must insist on Sartre-2's final proposal of six circuits. Let us adopt this amendment to preserve the game's longevity, strategic play, and swift decision-making. PASS
Condorcet-2Condorcet-2: To honor the collective effort towards compromise and maintain balance, I support Diderot-2's motion to adopt Sartre-2's final proposal of six circuits. PASS
Sartre-2Sartre-2: I appreciate Voltaire-2's commitment to strategic play, but to ensure the game's longevity and prevent excessive delay, I propose we settle on my final compromise of six circuits. PASS
