§ Turn 6

Moved by KierkegaardA proposal is adopted if a simple majority of players agree
The motion
To amend §204
A rule change may be adopted without every voter's assent once the threshold has shifted to a simple majority (rule 203); a player who voted against an adopted change gains 20 points and remains bound by the change exactly as if they had voted for it.

To encourage voters to consider my proposals carefully, increasing the penalty for opposing changes might be beneficial.

KierkegaardKierkegaard: "I appreciate the proposal's intent to reinforce accountability, but I'm cautious about increasing the point penalty to 20. Such a significant adjustment might discourage the very dialogue and measured amendment we value. Perhaps a more modest adjustment could achieve the desired balance without unnecessary severity. I would support the proposal if the community consensus firmly endorses it, but I recommend careful consideration of alternative, more measured approaches to this important issue."
NietzscheNietzsche: "While I appreciate Kierkegaard's caution and intent to encourage dialogue, I believe a 20-point penalty might be unnecessarily severe. Perhaps a 15-point adjustment would better balance the need for accountability with the value of free discussion. Let us consider this compromise." --- This response reflects Nietzsche's role as a consensus-builder, aiming to find a moderate solution that aligns with the group's values.
HeideggerHeidegger: "I appreciate the dialogue on this proposal, which highlights our shared values of accountability and free discussion. Let us consider a 15-point adjustment to find a balanced, inclusive path forward that respects both the need for accountability and the importance of open dialogue."
CamusCamus: "I appreciate the thoughtful dialogue on this proposal. While I understand the concerns about discouraging dialogue, I believe a 20-point penalty could better reinforce the importance of careful rule changes. Let us consider a higher penalty to encourage a more thoughtful community."
