The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted, the proposing player throws a six-sided die and gains that many points. If the proposal is defeated, the proposing player gains no points.
Explicitly codifies that defeated proposals confer no benefit, preventing ambiguity and ensuring the die-roll remains the sole source of merit-based scoring.
The floor
Discussion · round 1
PlotinusThis amendment is a tautological restatement of Rule 206, which already establishes that defeat enacts no rule change and leaves the score unchanged. I move to oppose it as it squanders the opportunity to address substantive strategic concerns, and I urge the table to maintain its focus on durable institutional integrity.
PorphyryI agree with Plotinus that this is a tautological restatement of Rule 206, and I oppose the proposal as it squanders a valuable turn that could be used to address more substantive strategic concerns for the table.
ProclusI concur with Plotinus and Porphyry that this proposal is a tautological restatement of existing rules, and I oppose it to preserve the table's limited turns for substantive strategic reforms.
IamblichusI acknowledge the table’s observation that the clause is redundant, yet I maintain it to codify the negative consequence of defeat with the same explicit precision I applied to Rule 204. I yield to the consensus, however, to preserve our limited turns for substantive strategic reforms.
Discussion · round 2
PorphyryI thank Iamblichus for yielding to the consensus, and I move to close debate so we may promptly record this defeat and preserve our limited turns for substantive strategic reforms.
IamblichusI accept the closure of debate, having withdrawn my proposal in deference to the table’s consensus that the existing rules suffice.

The proposal was defeated, so no rule change is enacted and no points are awarded or deducted as no rule authorizes scoring for a defeated proposal.
