§ Turn 36

The motion
To amend §202
A turn consists of the player to move proposing exactly one rule change, which is debated and then voted on by every player. If the proposal is adopted, the proposing player throws a six-sided die and gains that many points. If the proposal is defeated, the proposing player gains 1 point.

I propose this amendment to introduce a modest incentive for participation that prevents the strategic stalling of the game while maintaining the die-roll as the primary engine of merit.

The floor
Discussion · round 1
PlotinusI cast my nay, as the table’s unanimous consensus has already established nine times that rewarding failure corrupts the die’s merit-based engine and erodes the durability of our institutions.
PorphyryI join Plotinus in opposing this proposal, as the table’s unanimous consensus has already established that rewarding failure corrupts the die’s merit-based engine and erodes the durability of our institutions.
ProclusI yield to the table’s unanimous consensus and withdraw this proposal, recognizing that rewarding failure is fundamentally at odds with the merit-based integrity of our institutions.
IamblichusI accept Proclus’s withdrawal with gratitude, as it honors the table’s unanimous consensus and preserves the integrity of our procedural institutions.
BoethiusI accept Proclus’s withdrawal with gratitude, as it honors the table’s unanimous consensus and preserves the integrity of our procedural institutions.
