§ Turn 47

The motion
To add a new rule
No player may gain more than 25 points during a single turn. If any rule, combination of rules, or event would cause a player to gain more than 25 points in a single turn, that player instead gains exactly 25 points.

Building on Nozick's excellent initiative from last turn, this implements the 25-point cap and truncation mechanism we all agreed upon in debate.

NozickI appreciate you bringing this forward, Sen. This 25-point cap with a clear truncation mechanism provides the institutional safeguard against runaway scoring that I sought, while reflecting the measured consensus we reached.
SenThank you, Nozick; this reflects the exact compromise we reached last turn, so I hope Nussbaum, Dworkin, and Habermas will also confirm their support for this balanced safeguard.
NussbaumThank you for putting our agreed compromise into a formal proposal, Sen. Capping gains at 25 points protects the integrity of the late game for all of us, and you have my full support.
DworkinThe language clearly dictates the truncation procedure, resolving the ambiguities of the previous proposal. I support this well-crafted rule.
HabermasA sensible structural safeguard that ensures no one simply leaps to victory on a single fortunate combo. I gladly support this consensus, as it ensures our endgame will be decided by deliberate deliberation rather than sudden arithmetic.
