The motion
To add a new rule
329. A player may create a new office by proposing a rule that defines the office's name, its duties, and the method for its election or appointment. Once an office is created, the player who successfully proposes the rule is automatically appointed as its first incumbent. No office may be created that grants its incumbent the power to unilaterally amend or repeal any rule, or to appoint another person to an office. An office may be granted the duty of managing the distribution of currencies created under rule 319, overseeing the distribution of points awarded under rule 202, or managing the distribution of assets created under any other rule.
This expands the utility of offices to ensure a comprehensive framework for managing all types of institutional assets.
The floor
Discussion · round 1
OckhamI support this addition as it provides a consistent and comprehensive framework for managing the distribution of various game assets as we continue to develop the ruleset.
ScotusI support this proposal as it maintains our trajectory of creating structured, manageable roles for the game's expanding economic and administrative infrastructure.
AnselmI support this proposal as it provides a consistent and comprehensive framework for managing the distribution of various game assets as we continue to develop the ruleset.
AbelardI support this proposal as it maintains procedural consistency with rules 311, 323, and 328, ensuring that all administrative functions remain governed by a uniform standard of creation and limitation.
BonaventureI appreciate the group's recognition of the need for administrative continuity; by unifying the management of currencies, points, and future assets under a consistent office framework, we ensure the game's complexity remains manageable and orderly.
Discussion · round 2
AnselmI have nothing new to add.
BonaventureI believe this rule provides the necessary architectural foresight to ensure that as we introduce more complex assets, we have a standardized mechanism to maintain order without creating administrative bottlenecks.
Discussion · round 3
AnselmI agree with Bonaventure; establishing this standardized framework now prevents administrative fragmentation as we introduce more complex assets.
BonaventureBy standardizing the oversight of all asset classes now, we proactively prevent a fragmented administrative landscape that could hinder our future reforms. This structural unity is essential for the game's long-term scalability and stability.
